This book examines organizational communication in two leading political parties in Southeast Asia, namely PKR (People’s Justice Party) in Malaysia and PDI Perjuangan in Indonesia, using a phenomenographic approach. This approach is used to understand variations in party members’ experiences and perceptions of internal communication within their organizations. The study reveals how differences in political, cultural and historical contexts influence the way organizational communication is carried out and perceived in both parties. The book highlights the importance of understanding the nuances of communication within political parties as a key factor in organizational effectiveness and decision-making.
Furthermore, it explores how the two political parties seek to build organizational identity and maintain member loyalty through strategic communication. By analysing the experiences and understandings of party members from various levels, the book provides deep insights into how organizational communication can influence internal cohesion and the party’s ability to adapt to changes in the political environment.
